Today is a special day. We have a 6months anniversary today, yay! :) 6 months together :) and 6 days on a Whole30 journey together. My boyfriend always surprises me with his funny lovely quotes. Today while we were eating breakfast, he said: “Now I can really marry you, because you cook better than my mom.” This made me laugh and smile at the same time, and I felt so honored. :) We wanted to take a trip, so after breakfast I packed some grapes, some hardboiled eggs, water and we were ready to go. When we were halfway there, I got a baaaad stomach cramps (yep, Aunt Irma is coming) and it was really bad, so my beloved man decided that we will go back home and enjoy our 1/2year anniversary quietly at home together. So we went back home, crawled to bed together and watched a few episodes of Friends, which is our favorite TV show. It was lunchtime soon, and we didn’t feel like having a big meal yet, so we shared a pack of beef jerky, small bowl of grapes and handful each of cashews. Then somehow I fell asleep :) When I woke up it was past 3pm, my boyfriend did the dishes in meantime and was in the kitchen doing his awesome papermodeling. We had coffee and I made dinner. Today our dinner was AMAZING!!! While the chicken was grilling in the oven, we decided to finally make a homemade mayo. I took one egg and lemon out of the fridge the previous night, so it had a nice room temperature now, and we made our first ever batch of MAYO together!!! Following WellFed recipe by Melicious. It turned out PERFECT!!! I was suprised and super happy, I don’t think I ever felt this happy because of something to eat. Mayo made me happy :) I was like a little girl. We both kept repeating: MA-YO!!! We made a MA-YO!!! :) I immediately made a Ranch Dressing (also WellFed version) using some of our new creation and used it on the side of our dinner. After dinner we did our usual Whole 30 Daily reading, then I made lunch for tomorrow and had my workout. Shower ended this amazing day. Irma is still bothering and it is gonna last for like 3-4 days. From Monday I will have an evening shift at work (10am till 6pm instead of 6am till 2pm), but my boyfriend will still have a morning shift, so I can sleep a little longer, do my workouts in the morning and then go to work having lot of energy and knowing I don’t have to workout when I get home and I can only eat, cook and sleep. We are leaving for the weekend on Friday and we have to pack our meals to go, so I have to figure out some good travel meals to take with us. Now it is 9:30pm and even though I don’t have to go to bed this soon, I will rather have one more night of longer sleep. So I will show you some nice pictures now, okay? :)
BOD – 9:00am Fried eggs, bacon and some veggies. We still didn’t have enough, so I made my boyfriends number one desert – apple puree, just apple and fresh squeezed orange juice, sprinkled with cinnamon.
LOD – 12:30pm Jerky + grapes + cashews in bed. Didn’t need anything else at that time.
DOD – 6:00pm Grilled Citrus Chicken Breasts - found a recipe on Punchfork (obsessed with this site a bit lately, thanks again to Melissa for sharing the link) I made some oven baked potatoes with it and used our homemade Ranch Dressing with it. It was HEAVEN and we still have some left for tomorrow.
SOD – In between these three meals we had nothing else. I know today’s lunch is more like a snack :)
WOD – For The Lovers (loved it today)
I still had time to take a nice picture, even though we didn’t finish our trip today.
And this is our MA-YO!!! :)
We also broke (=opened at the bottom) our piggie bank today, and we have enough money in it to buy and electric grill, so we decided to buy one next week!!! Yay for home grilling!
Also wanted to show you what we are doing for a while now. Neither of us is using sugar in our coffee or tea and everytime we went out to have coffee or tea we take the prepacked sugar with us home. We had a huge cup on the kitchen table and we were putting these sugars into it. But now it was SO FULL that I just had to remove it, so I put them all in the bag and I placed it in the drawer. I don’t wanna throw our collection away even though we will never use it, we still might have a visitor one day who wants to sweeten their coffee :)
See you tomorrow in Day 7! That is gonna be a WEEK of Whole30 behind us :) And how are you doing? :)
